Shehla Chatoor has became a name to be reckoned with
in the past few years and has carved out
a niche for herself in the bridal couture as well as pret lines
in the Pakistani Fashion Scene.
Last night she held her first solo Bridal Couture show in
Karachi. An exclusive event with only 150 Guests from across
the it was the event to attend.
Shehla Chatoor and her design sense hold massive appeal for
the Fashionistas of Pakistan who are ready to now
experiment with design lines other then the more
established long standing designer labels have
to offer.
With a flair for the dramatic and a firm inclination for the
Bohemian she has become a force to be
reckoned with on the Pakistani Fashion Platform.
Her show yesterday did not disappoint. With embroideries
even more opulent than her signature
style she ventured even further in the dramatic zone
with sleeves trailing her gowns and jackets and
sprawling capes with lavish embellishments that took
the breath away.
Her customary gold, silvers and peaches were
interspersed with slashes of deep Crimson and
dowager purple lending the entire collection an even
more regal air.
The entire show teemed with energy and panache with only
one element that disappointed.
And that was the models. I felt that some of them were
unable to carry the clothes with the flair that
was required which was a major put off.
Other than that the evening was flawlessly executed
with the clothes fit to belong in the wardrobe of
royalty!
