Oprah Winfrey the beloved American ideal and self-made billionaire powerhouse was the recipient
of the Golden Globes’ annual Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievement.
This took on more significance as she is the first ever black woman to receive this award.
But what happened next was phenomenal. She gave a speech so inspiring, stirring and powerful
discussing race, gender and the fight for equality that not only did it reverberate nationwide it also
started a campaign to make her the first woman president of the United States of America.
Whatever that might be she truly delivered an inspiring speech that is a must hear for all women
and also for (like she said) some pretty phenomenal men!
Tvinkal is an idea that is seeded in the mind of our Muse and CEO Jahanara because of a dearth of good reading material pertaining to Pakistanis. An avid reader herself, she felt that most of the Pakistani Blogs were all about either sensationalism or were so deeply monetized that all they offered were advertisements or endorsements of different brands.
There isn’t a single Pakistani Lifestyle Blog that talks about the real life interests of Pakistanis especially the women. Be it Fashion, Trends, Street Style, Cooking, Shopping, Upcoming Events, Movie Reviews or a take on the International Scene, we just never get to read a Pakistanis Perspective.
And that is how Tvinkal came about!
